The Vitality Team is the Outreach Group of our church and is comprised of the Missions, Evangelism and aspects of the church.
St. John's Vitality Team helps church members spread their beliefs and values out of our church to our community and world. Also known as a Mission Team serving the Mission of St .Johns.
The team continues to provide food boxes, food bags and maintain what is now called “Nana’s Pantry”. The food boxes are prepared by team members and distributed by application from the church office every other Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. People from Kingman are welcome to come in and apply for a food box on a one per year bases. Food is shared with the Kingman Food Bank and Cornerstone Mission. We supply them with our overflow and they also supply extra fresh foods for our boxes.
We also have a clothes closet that is open in conjunction with the Food Box ministry. Those in need of clothing are welcomed to come and check out the closet that hosts a variety of seasonal clothing, shoes, jackets and blankets. It’s also available by appointment through the church office.
Our team participates in the Desert Southwest Annual Conference Missions. Each year there is a mission focus – in years past we’ve collected shoes, socks, tuna and beans. We look forward to participating in the projects from April – June.
Other than helping Kingman’s Cornerstone Mission we also actively raise funds to help the Kingman Advice and Pregnancy center. We collect change in baby bottles throughout the year and also support their yearly Fall Tea. Kingman Aide to Abused People, Catholic Social Services and St. Vincent DePaul also are supported through the vitality of our congregation. We also help our youth members go on their mission trip to different areas of the county.
Fall and winter provides members giving opportunities to add Thanksgiving and Christmas Food boxes. A Christmas star tree program continues to support our Grace Neal Preschool and Church families with Christmas gifts of clothing, toys, shoes & stockings as well as a stocking filled with goodies.
This Vitality Team is always looking for people who want to either be on the team, support an activity or go on missions across the world
