St. John's Caring Ministry is a new ministry at St. John's United Methodist Church taking the place of what we have known as Stephen Ministries. St. John's Caring Ministry brings a local church focus to how we reach out to those members who may be home bound, housed in assisted living, or nursing homes. We'd like to expand our hospital visits, while still ministering through our Christian faith to individuals. Every month we are discovering more people who can use a friendly person to visit with or lead a devotion, or who no longer are able to attend services. Most of these are former or longtime members, who deserve our love and attention.
If you or a church family member is admitted to the hospital or a care facility, please advise the admitting staff that you would appreciate a visit from your pastor or Caring Ministry Team. Our Caring Ministry Team is in need of individuals who have sensed a call to help these faithful members. Training is provided. We meet together monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month
at 5:30 PM in the small group learning and resource center.
If God is appealing to the serving, caring heart in you, contact Nancy Atkeson.
Remember someday you may find yourself or a loved one in the position of being confined to home, lonely, sick and in need of a friendly visitor, and a comforting message. Please search your heart and God bless each and every one of you. The St. John's family is a loving and supportive congregation.
